The 2024 Academic Forum on Electromagnetic Rheology Held Successfully in Xiaoxian County, Anhui Province

From April 26 to 28, the 2024 Academic Forum on Electromagnetic Rheology was successfully held in Xiao County, Suzhou City, Anhui Province. The forum was hosted by the Rheology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and the Chinese Chemical Society, and co-organized by the Key Laboratory of Material Mechanics Behavior and Design of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Advanced Technology of the University of Science and Technology of China-Xiaoxian Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Center. Professor Gong Xinglong and Professor Sun Shuai Shuai is the chairman of the academic committee. With the theme of "electromagnetic rheological materials and their engineering applications", the forum attracted experts and scholars from the government, enterprises, schools and scientific research institutions to participate. Through in-depth academic exchanges and coordination and cooperation between industry and education research, it stimulated inspiration and expanded ideas. Wang Jing, second-class inspector of the Department of Science and Technology of Anhui Province, Huai Ying, deputy mayor of Suzhou Municipal People's Government, and Zhu Xinhua, deputy secretary of the Xiaoxian County Party Committee and county magistrate, attended the meeting.

On the morning of April 27, the opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Gong Xinglong, director of the Key Laboratory of Mechanical Behavior and Design of Materials, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Kang Yu, member of the Party Committee and Executive Dean of the Advanced Technology Research Institute of the University of Science and Technology of China, said that the Advanced Research Institute of the University of Science and Technology of China will give full play to its resource advantages and focus on the construction of the two major industrial clusters of functional new materials and precision parts in Xiaoxian County. Zhang Jinjun, director of the China Rheology Professional Committee and professor of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), first explained the concept of rheology for the guests, and introduced the establishment and development of the Rheology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and the Chinese Chemical Society. He said that the forum "government-industry-university-research" joint cooperation represents the future development direction of electromagnetic rheology.

Then, Professor Li Weihua, a senior professor (Senior Professor) of Wollongong University of Australia, an Australian mechanical engineer and a member of the British Physical Society, made a report on the conference, "Metamaterial MR Elastomer Based Devices for Vibration Isolation".


After the report, Zhu Xinhua, deputy secretary of the Xiaoxian County Party Committee and county magistrate, Hu Yuedong, deputy chief engineer of the Advanced Research Institute of the University of Science and Technology of China, Li Weihua, senior professor of Wollongong University of Australia and member of the British Physical Society, Zhang Jinjun, director of the China Rheology Committee and professor of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and Dong Xufeng, deputy dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering and Engineering of Dalian University of Dalian University of Technology, held a round table forum on the EMR, it is presided over by Sun Shuai Shuai, a special professor, doctoral supervisor, and deputy director of the China University of Science and Technology-Aibo Intelligence Joint Laboratory.

Professor Sun Shuai Shuai of China University of Science and Technology made a conference report entitled" Reconstruction and Limit Enhancement of Human Motion Function Based on Force-sensitive Magnetorheological Elastomer.











On the afternoon of April 27, the conference was divided into two sub-venues: "Electromagnetic Rheological Mechanism" and "Electromagnetic Rheological Application", from the University of Science and Technology of China, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University of Technology, Hohai University, Taiyuan University of Technology, Shenzhen 23 professors, experts, scholars and engineers from Beili Moscow University and other units gave an invitation report.

After review by the review committee, Lian Xinyu of the University of Science and Technology of China won the first prize, Dalian University of Technology Du Tianxiang, Fuzhou University Huang Jiabo, University of Science and Technology of China Wang Wenpan won the second prize, Shandong University of Science and Technology Chen Qingchao, Lanzhou University Han Wenheng, Fuzhou University Liu Xiangyu, China University of Mining and Technology Shen Yurui, Dalian University of Technology Zhou Feng, Dalian University of Technology Wafa Iram khan won the third prize.



This forum is characterized by "government, industry, university and research".
